Washington State Education Funding
Who Funds our
Washington State Schools?
Washington State Lottery - When the lottery was started in 1982 the
revenue was suppose go soley
education. This was the "key-word" used to
"legalized" in Washington State and collect tax revenue.
However, when the
funds were put into the hands of our Legislature, they redirected
revenue to go into the Washington
State General Fund
instead. (this fund
pays for the every day operations of the state). By using
the ongoing "recession" as
leverage Legislature decided to put the
money into this fund to pay for "hardships" the State COULD
face instead. (very deceiving)
Public schools at that time took a larger portion of these
funds which did
help at this point to support education in our state. Throughout the
1990s as jobs dwindled
and schools suffered, numerous measures were introduced in
Legislature to redirect the state's share of lottery revenue to go back
into education, but none
States General funds -
This fund pays for
day-to-day operations of the state. Less then 1% now goes to
pay for education.
Timber Revenue -
Is revenue coming from timber sales and harvests, a
fund for education in rural Washington communities who grow and replant
rotating tree crops.
Since the 1980's these funds became more
environmental groups who visited our Quinault area, came in and AGAIN
crushing all but 30% of the harvestable tree farmed forest lands
(our state lands)
caused our jobs to disappear. Our schools could barely survive
without this funding. We depended on Levies, dedicated teachers and
good friends and neighborts of the community to make education at this
point even possilble. HATS OFF TO THEM ALL. You CARED.
Now the Enviro's have come back for the rest. A quote from
Cushman of the American Lands Right Assn. " environmentalists
are like a growing Cancer that keeps coming back".
No truer words have ever been spoken. "Wild Olympics"
will collapse our
base. This time they intend to take our valley! along with all the
other prime recreational areas around our Peninsula. Are we
going to let this happen? NO WE AREN'T and we need your voice. Email all
State and US officials to STOP this
against our children and all humanity. Our kids have the right to
learn and attend the schools of their choice. Higher educations
should be affordable for young people who earn a minimum wage, not just
for those who have been fortunate to have parental assisstance.
It becomes a
rights issue when populations are stripped of the things they have
voted for, paid for and deserve the right to have. Because
President Obama and Congress have made outrageously BAD choices, it
doesn't give them the right to strip the citizens that provide them
with their luxury meal tickets+. They spent our money and are now
out for our land public and private land. The "environmental
Guru's" as Spees puts it "are a plague that keeps on festering". A
plague that brings us
hunger and threatens the roofs we live under. These fanatics threaten
our rural living to the point of extinction. Water, Septics, Land
restrictions, Shoreline Act, Huge Buffer Zones and BANNING of WOOD
HEAT. Smoke from our chimney's "ruin their wilderness experience".
Agenda 21'ers that feel if they can't live here then nobody
should. Burdening "Nit Pickers". A question was directed at a
Patty Murray Aide during their legislative awareness FLOP, if she would
like to see the whole olympic peninsula relieved of people to become
park? Her answer was YES .
21 is real.
Million, Healthcare cuts for seniors and children in need $22
Million and Grays Harbor County with a 29% +
poverty rate, but the Federal Government (our tax dollars)
will spend $900 Million on
park expansion for nature enthusiasts.
Agencies destroyed our jobs here once already over bureaucratic
red tape. The rest of them will go when our schools close. Don’t
Be Fooled! They see the value of our natural
resources and they are out to own
them. Politically this is NOT about conservation or the
preservation environmentalists seek or for the sake of the future. The
Federal Government already sold our future down the river. Now
they have come to take what’s left in resources. Out of our
States hands into their own. A crafty scheme and evil at it’s
best. There is no money left. They have spent it all with a $16 trillion dollar deficit
and climbing daily. Conjuring up ways to cover for their mis-deeds
and budget problems.
Peninsula is loaded with resources, wood and valuable sot after
minerals. Who will own these prestigious forested mountains in the
future under Federal Government ownership. China? for our National
environmentalists don’t want to absorb is, depending on who is in
the White House decides the fate of these lands whether under an
“IRON CLAD” deed or not. These are Federal Facts. They CAN and WILL do anything they
want and it’s no secret they want money , money and more
money. Tax, Tax and more taxes.
As you have seen
from the Map
of the purposed areas for inclusion. Quinault has much to lose
will definitely be directly affected. If you respect the Quinault
Valley which has been cared for and protected by families that
settled here, families that STILL live here, families that made
it possible for you to explore and enjoy today, we ask you to

Think about it. We will all be picking up the tab for the $900
in place to buy us out of jobs, give up our homes, close our schools
and take food off our tables. What is in this for us besides HUGE
taxes hikes? Nothing EVER. Just like in the past. ZIP!
What’s in it
for the environmental urbanites who live and work elsewhere? but
want control of our Quinault area while dissolving our Community? the
areas we have kept in tact to this very day?
They will have the
freedom for their elite Nature Clubs to walk small loop trails
bordering our already protected wilderness, for their one or two
weekends out of each year (just like they can now). This is a
narrow self centered vision on their part, foolish, unnecessary and
We will, however, be
Locked Out of the lands we have paid to keep open for ALL to enjoy and Lands that
work for Washington State.
NO PARK EXPANSION.
They can not take care of what they manage now without abusing
it. We are already paying for past frivilous Government shopping sprees
QUINAULT is NOT for SALE, TRADE
